As a fan of warming and tingling lubricants, and a firm believer in the KY brand, I was extra excited to try this one out!
The product comes in a plastic bottle inside a cardboard box, about the size of your hand. The OH and I both agreed that, on first glance, the packaging looks an awful lot like that of sun lotion! This could big a big bonus if you have kids or anything. It doesn't look particularly intriguing and the only slightly obvious sexual reference is "Personal Lubricant" written on the front. On taking the bottle out, we were a little confused to find it only needs half of the box, so boo for wasteful packaging, but it's not a big problem. The bottle is clear plastic and about palm-sized, plus is under the limit for plane hand luggage! This means you can easily slip it into your handbag (or man-bag) and take it on holiday with you! Would make a brilliant travel lube!
My favourite thing about this lube in particular is that, unlike its competitors, it barely tastes or smells of anything! Other warming lubes tend to have strong scents and flavours, but the KY Warming Liquid is wonderful if you don't like that! It basically eliminates that "after sex smell" and I barely knew it was there during oral! Again, points for being inconspicuous for this one!
When using the stuff for the first time, we noticed that it takes quite a bit to get the desired slippery-ness. The bottle allows small drips and dribbles out when tipped upside down, or a steady stream when squeezed, so be warned, it will drip without the cap on! If you don't use enough, or when it starts to wear off, this does have the tendency to become sticky, which is a bit of a let-down, but nothing a shower can't cure. Still, if you want non-sticky lube, or if you plan to be using it frequently (due to the amount in the bottle, price, and amount you need to use), this may not be the one for you!
The heating function works quite well. Quite. The other half and I actually didn't notice much difference when we used this during sex. He said that if I gave him oral with some he could feel it slightly, but nothing awesome... And I certainly couldn't feel it inside me. However when used on nipples or as a massage oil you can really feel the warm tingles, and it's really rather pleasant! I could also feel slight benefits when I used this solo with a vibrator! It warmed the toy a bit, making it feel more realistic once inside me, which is a brilliant bonus! If you put it on your skin and blow gently, it really enhances the sensation. Lovely!
It's a lovely slippery, warm lube when used with toys (and it's toy and condom safe!) and brings great sensations when used on nipples, as a massage lotion or for gentle clitoral stimulation. It gives an extra bonus during oral, and doesn't taste or smell too much! An excellent little travel companion, and not half as obvious as most lubricants... Prettily packaged (sort of like perfume!) and it does the job!
My only real qualms are that it doesn't do much for average vaginal sex, gets a little sticky after use, and you don't really get enough of it for the price!
It's not my favourite, but I would recommend it for travel and inconspicuous temperature play... Could be great fun used with ice!
